On holiday with the Cortes, cycling to freedom and adventure!

Rob Post (77) from Kampen has always had a passion for cycling. For him, it was more than just a form of transport; it gave him freedom, kept him active and let him enjoy nature. But a year and a half ago, everything changed. Due to his Parkinson’s, he could no longer cycle on a two-wheeler, which had a huge impact on his life. Until he started looking for alternatives and ended up with the Huka Cortes.

Looking for alternatives

‘I have cycled all my life; it gave me freedom and kept me active. I can enjoy myself tremendously on a bike. But when Parkinson’s disease prevented me from cycling on a normal two-wheeler, I decided to look for alternatives. In the end, I bought a Huka Cortes tricycle at Tweewielercentrum Zwolle. This bike offers the stability I need and allows me to enjoy cycling again,’ Rob says enthusiastically.

‘We go to South Limburg with our caravan several months a year. Since we stay there for a longer time, we had the bike delivered there. This was all made possible by our Huka dealer Tweewielercentrum Zwolle. They arranged transport through a transport company and that’s how the bike was delivered to the campsite. Now the real enjoyment can begin’ says Rob.

Every ride is a new discovery

‘We used to do tours of around 60 kilometres, but now the distances are around 30 kilometres. I cycle in front and my wife cycles behind me. Despite the shorter distances, we thoroughly enjoy every ride. We cycle beautiful routes through the Limburg countryside. At the end of each trip, we place the bicycle neatly in our newly purchased bicycle tent. This keeps it protected and in good condition. And when we head home again? The plan is to hire a cargo box and drive home once extra to take the bike with us. It’s a bit of extra effort, but it’s definitely worth it! There are so many options these days, and if this is the little bit of effort, allowing us to enjoy extra, we will definitely take it for granted! ‘ said Rob.
