Dick finds his freedom again with the Huka Cortes
Dick Rövekamp (72) from Meppel has always enjoyed cycling. It not only gave him the opportunity to keep moving, but also to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Unfortunately, his life changed when he contracted a muscle disease. Cycling on a two-wheeler became dangerous and even resulted in a fall. This led Dick to look for a safer alternative, which he found in the Cortes tricycle.
A new beginning with the Huka Cortes
‘Cycling was always my way of exploring the outside world and staying active. After my fall with the two-wheeler, I realised I needed a safer option. I decided to purchase a Huka Cortes. This bike provides the stability I need and allows me to enjoy bike rides again,’ Dick says.
Daily rides through the area
‘Since I bought the Cortes last year, I cycle about 100 kilometres every week. I explore the beautiful surroundings of Meppel. Every ride is a new adventure and a chance to be outdoors. Cycling with my two-wheeler used to be risky, but with the tricycle I feel safe and stable.’
A reliable companion
Dick is extremely happy with his choice of the Huka Cortes. ‘The bike was second-hand, but in excellent condition when I bought it from a woman from Venlo. I didn’t have to modify anything on the bike, it was already perfectly equipped with everything I needed. It was a good decision to go for the Cortes.’
Safe and secure on the road
With the Cortes, Dick can hit the road again without any worries. ‘My wife was always worried whether I would get home safely after a bike ride. Now, with the Cortes, that fear is allayed. I can enjoy my freedom and the fresh outdoor air again. It’s great to be able to cycle again without any risks.’

Dick therefore recommends the Huka Cortes to everyone. ‘I see more and more people on tricycles. It offers not only stability, but also a sense of security and independence. I would recommend it to anyone who, like me, has problems with balance or is looking for a safe way to keep cycling.’
