With the arrival of Sebastiaan Brockötter as Director of Operations, Huka is bringing in extensive experience in the fields of operations and supply chain management. With a strong focus on collaboration, customer focus and continuous improvement, he is looking forward to working with the whole team to further build a future-proof organisation.

What appealed to you most about Huka and why did you choose Huka?

“Huka makes innovative products that really appeal to me. In addition, Huka places great value on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), which I consider an important aspect; not just the business side, but also the social and human side of entrepreneurship. I also found the discussions with the management very pleasant. There is a clear strategic plan and a straightforward approach to achieving the objectives. This way of working suits me 100%. Last but not least: working in the Oldenzaal region. After years of travelling extensively – around 30% of my time – I wanted to work closer to home. The fact that this has ultimately turned out to be Oldenzaal is new to me, and cycling to work feels like a breath of fresh air.”

What experience do you bring to the table and how do you think it will contribute to Huka’s growth?

“I bring 25 years of experience in various operational roles at different companies within operations and supply chain. My strength lies in finding solutions to complex issues and establishing an organisation with a culture that makes this possible. Organisations with a well-structured and well-oiled supply chain that is fully tailored to the customer’s requirements and wishes ultimately make the difference in the market.”

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

“Working together to build an organisation that is fully equipped to meet customer requirements and wishes, enabling sales orders to be processed seamlessly. This creates scope for everyone to deliver added customer value and enables us to be competitive in a dynamic and challenging market.”

What do you enjoy most about working in operational roles?

“Operations is characterised by constantly adapting to changes in the market. Think of customer needs, geopolitical developments and the balance between supply and demand. It is precisely that dynamic that appeals to me enormously. The constant search for solutions to meet customer demand is what drives me and gives me energy.”

When you’re not working, how do you spend your free time?

“I enjoy spending time with my family and going on trips to nice places, which always includes a visit to a good restaurant. I also try to go for a run three times a week and enjoy watching a good football match on television. I’ll be following the upcoming World Cup with great interest. I also have a keen interest in history, particularly the Second World War. Finally, it is my wish to do more voluntary work for the Oldenzaal community in the coming years. Now that I work in Oldenzaal, I hope to actually be able to make more time for this.”
